The epic Mongolian drama that swept away London, the center of the theatrical world,
is finally taking the stage in Japan!
The magnificent spectacular theatrical production from Mongolia that enthralled
audiences in London and Singapore is coming to Japan for the first time!
“The Mongol Khan” ran for over 180 performances in its homeland, Mongolia in 2022
and was seen by a total of 105,000 guests.
Set against the backdrop of 3,000 year-long history of the ancient Mongol Empire filled
with glory and mystery, it is a drama of love and ambition, betrayal and revenge, and
rivalry for royal succession. Following Mongolia, it won critical acclaim when it was
performed at the London Coliseum in London’s West End and then again at the Sands
Theatre at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, to audiences of approx. 30,000 people
each.
Enacted by more than 50 performers, the story combines stage design that blends
tradition and innovation, original music that features traditional Mongolian instruments
and vocals, dynamic dance, and puppetry, to create a lavish, large-scale spectacular
production that surpasses the imagination of audiences.

A majestic epic that unfolds the glory and mystery of the Mongol Empire.
About 2,000 years ago in ancient Mongolia, princes are born in short succession to the
two queens (Tsetser and Gerel) of Archug Khan, who rules the empire. However, it turns
out that the prince that Tsetser gave birth to was fathered by Chancellor Egereg.
Although the chancellor appeals directly to Archug regarding the legitimacy of Tsetser’s
son, Archug decides, after much thought, that Prince Khuchir, born to Gerel and Archug,
should be the rightful successor. The decision makes Egereg worry about his son’s future.
He ends up manipulating the royal bloodline by switching the two infants.
Unaware of the deception, Archug Khan crowns Prince Achir, who was born of Queen
Tsetser and Chancellor Egereg, at the coronation ceremony…
